Why we exist.
Macomb County isn't a suburb of anywhere. It's a place with its own newspapers' worth of stories — and for too long, too few people were telling them well. Macomb Thread is local news, commentary and culture built by people who live here, pay taxes here and want this county to thrive.
What we stand for
Local first
Our reporting starts at the township hall, the school board and the dinner table — not the state capitol.
Follow the money
Budgets, contracts and millages are public. We read them so you don't have to — and we ask when something doesn't add up.
For the people here
Sterling Heights, Warren, Clinton Twp, Shelby Twp, Macomb Twp, St. Clair Shores, Mount Clemens and Lake St. Clair. Every story is for a neighbor.
